Do we need a CNO? The DH in England is proposing a senior/lead nurse to replace the CNO as well as a commissioning nurse on the new Commissioning Board in the new DH regime.
This could have an impact on both perception, value and impact of nursing practice, therefore should we have a CNO, what's the value, and what are the options?
can i suggest something about the regulation of HCA's ... with all the recent stuff about Winterbourne i do feel that HCA minimum training and regulation would have helped to combat the abuse culturethat took place there
Basic care. The media and public seem to be all over us as nurses and the perception that we don't do it. Why? And what constitutes basic care? Surely an emotive subject!
Hi I wondered if we could look at the subject of dementia, being aware its a time bomb for an ageing population, and how we feel we can improve care to those with this condition not only in hospital but community as well
With rishing cost penalties incurred by LHAs for bed blocking (often by elderly patients), readmission penalties and the like, why don't PCTs / GP consortia use funds to offer live-in nursing care at home. The patients don't want to be in hospital or community nursing homes - they want to be at home.
I should like to discuss the re introduction of 2 Tier Nursing ie re opening part 2 of the NMC Register and how this may improve Nursing Care and assist staffing.Does anyone remember the role of the EN, what are their views ? Is anyone a practising RN on part 2 of Register currently etc
Could I suggest pressure ulcers? Pressure ulcers are painful and distressing for patients and carers. A wide range of interventions are available but the evidence of their effectiveness remains limited. The James Lind Alliance Pressure Ulcer Partnership is inviting patients, carers and health care professionals to let us know what they would like to see researched. This might make an interesting chat...

Can I suggest a discussion on the importance of nursing staff having the seasonal flu jab?
thanks for all the great suggestions .. Hopefully we will get around to discussing all of these subjects
Can we discuss the seasonal flu vaccination - should you have it? Why will you/ won't you be having it this year?
Thanks anonymous - you will be pleased to know that a discussion about this will be coming soon
